“Alexa, feed the dog.” App scheduling, a bowl scale, low-food and jam alerts to your phone, and a recordable meal-call in your own voice — no measuring cups, no bending to check the bowl; alerts replace the visual checks. Honest notes: PetSafe carries about a 20% one-star share (connectivity gripes), and PETLIBRO’s app accessibility is unverified. The endgame of the category is the Litter-Robot 4 ($699): a self-cleaning litter globe whose app tracks usage and tells you when to empty it — scooping, a task that requires judging cleanliness by sight, eliminated entirely.
